Welcome to the website of Birley Community First Panel. Here you’ll find information on what we do, how to get involved, and how to get help for your community organisation in Birley Ward, Sheffield.

The Second Round of Funding has now closed !

There were three succesful groups in the second round and we are very pleased that the Birley Community First Panel have been able to recommend them to the CDF for awards.

1)  Woodland View Dementia Support Group – Marinas Shop and Cafe, the group applied for £1997.94 for a small shop that would stock sweeties, slippers, cosmetics which relatives currently buy from supermarkets. The profits would be spent on outings for our residents.

2) Learning Together ABC Ltd (Social Enterprise) – Construction Family Challenge, the group applied for £2442.50 for a Family Learning project around science and technology to encourage Mothers, Fathers/carers to become involved with School/Children’s Centres and their child’s education.

3) Rother Valley Church –  Community Kitchen the group applied for £2,500 to provide a  new kitchen which will enable them to provide food for young people, teach them how to cook and to serve food to others. This will in turn reduce anti-social behaviour because there is a safe place for young people to come and new activities to take part in.
